Why partner with us?

Horizon Elementary hosts nearly 400 young students between the ages of 5 and 11 every Monday through Friday during the School Year. With that comes the large responsibility to the staff and teachers, to ensure that students not only learn important skills like reading, writing and math - but that they also learn how to be good citizens in our community.

It’s no secret to any of us that schools continue to struggle - even in the most “affluent” communities - it is difficult to ensure all resources are covered and that staff and teachers feel encouraged to do their job well.

The stats speak for themselves...

The stats speak for themselves. Teachers and staff are stressed, tired and dropping out of the school like flies. So much so, that MSU changed their Education degree program from 5 to 4 years - just so they could get more teachers out into the work force.

Without the passionate and motivated teachers, our school system can not thrive.

Take a moment to think back on your “school career.” I bet that you can think of a teacher who made a really bad impression on you - and probably one that made a really big positive one. Ultimately, the teacher can make or break an educational experience.

At Horizon, our motto among the parents and caretakers is, “Happy Staff, Happy Students!” And we truly believe that. Which is why we’re asking you to partner with us so that we can raise funds to ensure Horizon Elementary staff has what they need to educate the young people in our community - and to help give additional resources to the students - like books, clothing when needed, and more.
